101 Reasons Why We Left Islam – Chapter 3: Quran’s Disastrous Scientific Errors – Introduction
Introduction

From the mid-1970s to the 2020s, Islamic Dawah focused almost exclusively on promoting Islam through Scientific Miracles of the Quran. You hear nothing about any of these claims before the 1970s. It is important to understand the context of these claims. The Islamic world was rocked in the 1960s with the landing of the Moon. Pictures showing infidels walking on the moon, turning their cameras towards the floating ball of the Earth, and proving that humans can break through the confines of the Earth sent shockwaves across a culture that relied on the science of the 7th century book. Muslims always regarded the Moon as ‘this belongs to us’. It is what the Prophet did by splitting it and putting it together, it is our calendar, it is the crescent you see on top of mosques, and very much symbol of Islam. The moon’s changing shape is that monthly reminder of the ‘miracle’ of Allah. The Arabic word for the moon re-appears as a crescent every month as ‘birth of the moon’. So, every month, the moon crescent appeared, and it would be claimed the miracle of creation happening again followed with ‘Subhan Allah’. But quite possibly, the biggest shock was that humans left the Earth’s confines. In fact, Allah challenged humans on this particular issue:
Quran 55:33
O assembly of jinn and humans! If you can penetrate beyond the realms of the heavens and the earth, then do so. ˹But˺ you cannot do that without ˹Our˺ authority.
Allah’s authority!? Allah has favoured the Americans to penetrate beyond the Earth, sky, and into the heavens! More so, Islamic scholars battled with suggesting that Allah can allow infidel Americans to land on the moon and desecrate it. Then you have Soviets, who Islamic scholars recognise as Kuffar by definition, showed off their astronauts floating in space having escaped the Earth’s gravity. And if you find one way or another to justify why Allah gave authority to infidels to pierce through the heavens, remember that this means Allah allowed them to drink alcohol as well! The first glass of red wine happened in the 1969 Apollo 11 mission. The first full bottle was a cognac bottle in 1984, and several times, Russian Roscosmos allowed to take cognac, vodka, and ginseng alcoholic drinks with them. The first trips beyond our heavens were not to get closer to Allah but to prove these is nothing above us- we are alone!

It is hard to comprehend now the shockwave this has caused at the turn of the 1970s. It was an apostasy at a scale that you can see in photos from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, and other parts of the Islamic world. This was not an accident or a random phase in our history. It was a wake-up call for a generation that saw through the ridiculous science of the desert dweller religion. However, the religious authorities were not ready to relinquish their powers, incel men who saw the benefit of keeping religion that gave them full power over women, as well as corrupt politicians who utilised religious authorities to control the masses found a route for Islam to come back. The cultural revolution was short-lived and doomed. In a process that took less than a decade, they pushed under the carpet all the Hadiths and Quranic Tafsirs that exposed scientific errors. It was always easier to hide the Hadith or reevaluate it as ‘weak’. It is harder to do the same with the Quran. So, they resorted to ‘reinterpret’ its meanings. And went on the offensive by aggressively pushing for ‘scientific miracles of the Quran’. From Cairo’s Scientific Miracles of the Quran conference of 1980 and the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, in 1981- in both cases, International scientists were invited on the pretext of a scientific conference only to be coerced, bribed, or even misquoted to claim that the Quran is full of scientific miracles. They further propagated lies that claimed Western astronauts and scientists were converting to Islam because Islam is the truth! Where, in fact, much of their claims were lies. That was the start of the Islamic backlash that saw thousands of claims of scientific miracles of the Quran or Hadith that centred on one key claim:
No one knew this fact back then. So how can a 7th century desert dweller know this. This proves the Quran/Prophet is true.
This chapter will discuss 23 scientific errors, mistakes, and debunked miracle claims. Thus, proving that despite all efforts to prove Islam to be true, they failed. In the last reason (Reason #42), we show a recent change of direction by the Dawah movement whereby they no longer claim any of the Quranic or Hadiths to be miracles. Still, the remanences of 40 years of lies remain propagating online and offline. Therefore, it is our duty here to put the 23 most popular claims to rest. We start with a simple example. Allah does not know how to add up!
