There are many believers who incorrectly state that Abu Bakr brought Bilal from his slavery master who was torturing him for converting to Islam, and “set him free”. Such a romantic story, but that is not true.
While Bilal was now safe, enjoyed a very respectable status with the prophet, and helped with multiple wars, he was never freed as the authentic hadith below shows him, after Muhammad had died, begging Abu Bakr to free him!

The bottomline, Islam NEVER banned slavery. It encouraged good treatment of slaves, and freeing them is considered a good deed (only if they convert to Islam). In fact, the hadith that Muhammad explains the meaning of “Muslims are the best people” in the Quran says:
Sahih al-Bukhari 4557
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Verse:–“You (true Muslims) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind.” means, the best of peoples for the people, as you bring them with chains on their necks till they embrace Islam.
any religion that justifies owning, selling, buying, and in many cases abusing other humans has no grounds to talk about morality. Plus, we see how Arabs treat migrants with some rights, don’t give me bullshits. If you Google, slavery in Islam and look at images – you will see ALL the historical drawings by Muslims and none Muslims show forced slavery and systematic abuse. Finally, explain, how UN was able to ban slavery in 20 years and Allah/Quran could not in 1350? Who is better Allah or UN?
